The top area of Simple UI is divided into two highly customizable components: the Status Bar (a persistent, slim information row) and the Title Bar (which replaces KOReader's default folder and menu headers).
To access these settings, open the KOReader menu and navigate to Simple UI → Top.
Part 1: Status Bar
The Status Bar sits at the very top edge of your screen, keeping you informed about your device's state without distracting from your reading. You can also long-press the Status Bar itself to quickly open its settings.
1. Items & Arrangement
You can choose what information is displayed and where it is positioned.
- Arrange Items: Assign each widget to the Left, Center, Right, or hide it completely.
- Available Items: Clock, Wi-Fi, Brightness, Battery, Disk Usage, RAM Usage, and Custom Text.
- Custom Text: Allows you to display a personalized short text (e.g., your name or device info). You can edit the text directly from the menu.
2. Appearance & Sizing
- Size: Adjust the overall height and font size of the Status Bar.
- Swipe Indicator: Displays a small chevron in the center of the bar (if no other center items are active) to remind you where you can swipe down to open the KOReader main menu.
- Hide Wi-Fi icon when off: Keeps the bar cleaner by completely hiding the Wi-Fi icon when you are disconnected, rather than showing a crossed-out icon.
- Note on Transparency: You can make the Status Bar transparent to let your wallpaper shine through. This option is located under Simple UI → Home Screen → Wallpapers.
3. Behaviour
- Settings on Long Tap: Enabled by default. This allows you to instantly open the Status Bar's configuration menu simply by long-pressing anywhere on the bar itself.
Part 2: Custom Title Bar
Simple UI replaces KOReader's default top header in the Library, History, and Collections with a Custom Title Bar. It features a cleaner look, an improved back button, and configurable shortcuts.
