The Home Screen is the central hub of Simple UI, providing a quick overview of your reading progress, recent books, and shortcuts. You can fully customize its layout and behavior to suit your needs.
To access these settings, open the top KOReader menu and navigate to Simple UI → Home Screen.
1. Behaviour Settings
Configure how the Home Screen interacts with KOReader under the Behaviour menu:
- Start with Home Screen: When enabled, KOReader will boot directly into your Home Screen instead of the standard File Manager.
- Return to Book Folder: When enabled, exiting a book will return you to the folder where the book is stored. If disabled (default), you will always return to the Library root.
- Closing Notice: Controls when the brief "Closing book..." message appears. You can set it to Always, Gesture Only (shows only if you close the book via a swipe gesture), or Never.
- Settings on Long Tap: Allows you to open any module's specific settings simply by long-pressing it directly on the Home Screen.
- Warn When Modules Overflow: Displays a warning if the modules you've enabled take up more vertical space than your device's screen can fit.
2. Modules & Layout
You can enable, disable, and arrange various widgets (modules) to build your perfect dashboard. Check or uncheck the modules in the list to toggle their visibility.
- Number of Pages: You can spread your modules across multiple pages (up to 10). Swipe left or right on the Home Screen to turn pages.
- Arrange Modules: Allows you to drag and drop your active modules to reorder them or move them between different pages.
- Module Settings: Access deep customization for each individual module. Alternatively, you can access this by long-pressing a module directly on the Home Screen.
Available Modules:
- Currently Reading: Displays your active book with cover, title, author, and reading progress.
- Recent Books: A row of your recently opened books.
- Cover Deck: A swipeable carousel of your recent or "To Be Read" books.
- Reading Goals: Tracks your daily reading time and annual book targets.
- Reading Stats: Shows cards or lists with your reading streaks, daily averages, and totals.
