The Bottom Bar is your persistent navigation hub in Simple UI, offering one-tap access to your most used KOReader features. You can fully customize its buttons, layout, and appearance.

To access these settings, open the top KOReader menu and navigate to Simple UI → Bottom → Navigation Bar. Alternatively, you can simply long-press anywhere on the Bottom Bar itself to open its settings.

1. Tabs & Actions

You can select and arrange the buttons (tabs) that appear on the bar to suit your workflow.

• Tabs Selection: Choose which shortcuts to display. You can add up to 6 tabs (or up to 4 if Navpager is enabled). Available actions include Library, Home Screen, Collections, History, Continue Reading, Bookmark Browser, Wi-Fi toggle, and any Custom Quick Actions you have created.
• Arrange tabs: Allows you to drag and drop your active tabs to reorder them from left to right.

2. Appearance & Sizing

Tailor the look of the Bottom Bar to match your device and preferences:

• Type: Choose the display style for your tabs. Options are Icons + Text (default), Icons only, or Text only.
• Size: Adjusts the overall height of the Bottom Bar.
• Icon Size & Label Size: Independently scale the size of the icons and the text labels.
• Bottom Margin: Adds or removes blank space below the Bottom Bar. This is especially useful for devices with recessed screens or large bottom bezels to prevent accidental touches.
• Top separator: Toggles the visibility of the thin horizontal line that separates the Bottom Bar from the main content area.

3. Pagination Bar

Simple UI also overhauls how page navigation works. These settings are found under Simple UI → Bottom → Pagination Bar.

• General Mode:
  • Navpager: Integrates page turning directly into the Bottom Bar by placing Prev / Next arrows at the far left and right edges. The arrows intelligently dim when there is no previous or next page. (Note: Enabling Navpager limits the Bottom Bar to a maximum of 4 centre tabs).
  • Default: Keeps KOReader's standard floating pagination bar above the Bottom Bar.
  • Hidden: Removes pagination controls entirely.
• Home Screen Pager: Controls how pagination looks specifically on the Home Screen.
  • Dot Pager: Displays a sleek, subtle row of dots at the bottom of the Home Screen to indicate pages. The dot for the active page is filled.
  • KOReader: Uses the standard text-based pagination bar on the Home Screen.
• Number of Pages in Title Bar Always: When enabled, the current page progress (e.g., "Page 1 of 3") is shown in the subtitle of the Top Title Bar while browsing the library or collections.

4. Behaviour

• Settings on Long Tap: Enabled by default. This allows you to instantly open the Bottom Bar's configuration menu simply by long-pressing any empty space or non-actionable area on the bar.
