Backup & Restore exports your entire Simple UI configuration to a single portable .sui file. Use it to protect your setup before a firmware re-flash or plugin update, or to copy your exact layout, bars, and style to a friend’s device (or your other e-reader).

To access these settings, open Simple UI’s Settings (tap the Settings button) and go to About → Backup & Restore.

1. What Gets Backed Up

A backup is organised into selectable categories, so you can share just part of your setup if you want to:

• Appearance & Style — fonts, icon assignments, icon presets
• Home Screen — layout, modules, custom screens, presets
• Bars — Navigation, Status, Title and Quick Settings Bar
• Library — folder covers, browse modes, series grouping
• Quick Actions — custom actions, rows and dispatcher bindings
• Goals & Streaks — reading goals, streak mode and freeze bank
• Wallpaper — wallpaper settings and the image files themselves
• Custom quotes — your quote pool files
• Custom icons — icon files and installed icon packs

A small set of core settings (such as whether Simple UI is enabled) is always included regardless of which categories you pick, so a restored backup boots into the same shape it was exported from. Internal bookkeeping (migration flags, caches, debug data) never leaves the device.

2. Creating a Backup (Export)

1. Open About → Backup & Restore.
2. Under Export Full Backup…, tick or untick the categories you want to include — this selection is remembered for next time.
3. Tap Export now…, confirm or edit the suggested filename, then tap Export.
4. The .sui file is written to koreader/settings/simpleui/backups/ on your device.
